The Blind Side star Quinton Aaron was blindsided by wife’s revelations during stroke recovery

Former star of The Blindside, Quinton Aaron, has opened up about his recovery from a spinal stroke and his relationship with his wife.

Currently, Aaron is in physical therapy in Atlanta, Georgia, and working to regain his ability to walk. Speaking to ABC News, Aaron reflected on his recovery and some of the hard truths he learned about his wife during this process.

Following his stroke, Aaron was in a coma for four days. Upon waking up, he discovered that his wife, Margarita DeLeon, was still married to another man, so she couldn’t legally make medical decisions for him, leading to the “doctors removing her from around me,” as Aaron revealed.

This was news to Aaron, who had been told she was divorced for more than a decade during his relationship with DeLeon. Even when they were getting married, DeLeon doubled down, telling someone, “I have all the documents. I can email over to you the divorce decree.”

Aaron admits his oversight was his “biggest mistake.” He never did any research of his own to confirm that DeLeon wasn’t married. According to an attorney, DeLeon was married to a man she tied the knot with in 1992.

Despite everything, Aaron still loved her, saying he “did.” However, DeLeon is fighting back against this narrative, claiming that there was a mistake and that she was unaware her divorce wasn’t finalized.

Either way, there is tension between her and Aaron’s family. DeLeon’s husband filed for divorce in February 2026, and he corroborated DeLeon’s statement that they didn’t realize that the filing hadn’t gone through.

Ultimately, this experience is changing Aaron’s mindset and approach to relationships in the future. He will do his “due diligence,” but he is learning from his mistakes.

Aaron is best known for playing NFL offensive lineman Michael Oher in the Sandra Bullock-led The Blind Side. He has also starred in Paranormal Movie, 1982, Traded, and The Baby Pact. Aaron has also appeared in episodes of TV shows like Law & Order, One Tree Hill, and Gods of Medicine.
