New York will be looking to bounce back.

TGL started its second straight doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon (Atlanta won Monday night’s first match and fell to Los Angeles in the second) and the first match featured Bay Golf Club taking on New York Golf Club.

Ludvig Aberg, Wyndham Clark, and Shane Lowry were ready to go, and they were particularly ready to use Hammer strategy to their advantage as they pulled off the 5-3 victory.

Here is how each team stacked up for the match (New York Golf Club, The Bay Golf Club):

TRIPLES

  • Hole 1 (Flex): New York got off to a rocky start and Bay took the first hole
  • Hole 2 (Sterling): Another tough outing for New York to double Bay’s lead
  • Hole 3 (Cenote): Hat trick!
  • Hole 4 (Big Apple): Rickie Fowler helped New York stop the bleeding and get on the board
  • Hole 5 (Cliffhanger): The first tie of the outing
  • Hole 6 (Lavender Lane): Another draw
  • Hole 7 (On The Rocks): Make that three in a row
  • Hole 8 (Stinger): Another Rickie Fowler special to narrow the gap for New York
  • Hole 9 (Bay Breaker): A draw to end the triples portion

SINGLES

  • Hole 10 (Bonnie Link): Singles started with a tie as well
  • Hole 11 (Cut The Sails): Matt Fitzpatrick out-dueled Wyndham Clark to square things up
  • Hole 12 (Set In Stone): Another tie
  • Hole 13 (Alpine): Ludvig Aberg made things interesting and there was an interesting sequence following a thrown Hammer and whether it was allowable, but Bay took the point and the lead once more
  • Hole 14 (The Last Toll): Bay strategically threw a Hammer when in an advantageous spot and picked up the point
  • Hole 15 (Stone & Steeple): A draw to close affirmed Bay’s win

Shane Lowry’s daughter was celebrating her birthday on site so it was a family affair on the winning side of the equation. New York was the team who was a part of the doubleheader so time will tell if they can bounce back against Boston.
