Teofimo Lopez will be putting his WBO super-lightweight title on the line against Shakur Stevenson this weekend.

After winning world titles at featherweight, super-featherweight and lightweight, Stevenson is keen to become a four-weight king and claim a huge scalp.

But, current reigning champion Lopez is confident he will be the one to hand the pound-for-pound contender his first career loss.

The rivals will settle the score in a blockbuster clash in one of America’s most prestigious sporting venues – Madison Square Garden.

Lopez and Stevenson are topping The Ring VI card at the beginning of an exciting year in the sport.

This 12-round super-lightweight title clash is taking place on Saturday, January 31.

It is being held at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City.

DAZN will broadcast live coverage from MSG throughout the night, with timings yet to be confirmed, although it will be friendly for US fans.

Fans can watch the action with a DAZN Ultimate monthly pass, which are available for a monthly fee of £24.99 HERE.

Lopez vs Stevenson: What has been said?

The event is being hosted by Turki Alalshikh’s Ring Magazine as part of their ongoing series of stacked cards.

He said: “This fight between two huge talents will provide an exciting start to our plans for 2026 and as we look to create another great year of boxing events around the world.

“We are looking forward to returning to New York in January and producing another big world title fight that fans have been waiting for.”

During the New York launch press conference, Lopez explained: “Every fight is a different version of me.

“I love it because even the people don’t know what they are going to get from me.

“That’s the beauty of it. Shakur’s not going to know until we fight.”

Stevenson said: “I have never shied away from a challenge and always chased the biggest fights in the sport because I know I am one of the best boxers in the world.

“Teofimo Lopez will learn that firsthand on January 31 when I take his belt and show him that there are levels to this game.

“New York, get ready for a spectacular performance as I take over a fourth straight weight division.”

He also explained how their fight came about: “I actually set this fight up, and I honestly did it because I want to push myself.

“I know that Teo is a tremendous fighter, I know he’s on an extremely high level.

“I know that I can beat him, but I know that this should be a tough test, so I’m ready.”
