Taylor Hall’s Game 6 goal literally dropped John Tortorella’s jaw

The Vegas Golden Knights are looking to avoid elimination in Game 6 of the 2026 Stanley Cup Final. However, things have not started well for the hosting Knights on Sunday night. Taylor Hall opened the scoring in Game 6 for Carolina. And Vegas head coach John Tortorella could not believe what he was seeing.

The Hurricanes are one win away from the Stanley Cup. And Hall is a major reason the team is at this point. Including his goal on Sunday night, the former Hart Trophy winner has scored seven goals and 19 points in 19 playoff games. This is by far the most productive he has been in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Hall joined the Hurricanes through a trade last season. The former No. 1 pick was dealt to Carolina in the first Mikko Rantanen trade of the 2024-25 season. He had been languishing with the lowly Chicago Blackhawks before the deal.

The veteran forward has not been a major superstar with Carolina. But he has certainly played an important depth role with the team. This postseason has seen him raise his play alongside youngsters Logan Stankoven and Jackson Blake.

Carolina has not won the Stanley Cup since 2006. However, that can change on Sunday night. So far, they are in the driver’s seat. They just need to keep things going for another two periods of play.

The Golden Knights certainly won’t roll over, though. Vegas has everything to play for in Game 6. No matter the result, this game is setting up for a thrilling conclusion already.
