Tartan Army’s World Cup tour continues with home run ball at Fenway Park

Scotland enjoyed the ideal start to their FIFA World Cup campaign with a 1-0 win over Haiti in their Group C clash with John McGinn scoring the only goal of the game at the 28th minute mark. For some Scotland fans, however, that was not the only thing to celebrate.

After their team’s first game at the Boston Stadium, some young Scotland supporters attended the Boston Red Sox’s game against the Texas Rangers, which Boston ended up losing 6-4. However, one particular young fan ended up catching the home run ball, before raising it up the crowd in delight, per a post on X by Men in Blazers.

Needless to say, the trip has gone to the best-possible start for the young fans, who will hope that Scotland continue their strong run in the World Cup as well. Placed in Group C alongside Haiti, Morocco and Brazil, the Tartan army can expect a much more severe test of their team in the remaining group games.

Morocco, who have gone strength to strength in recent tournaments under Mohamed Ouahbi, played out a 1-1 draw against the mighty Brazil, who see Carlo Ancelotti take charge in his first major international tournament. The legendary coach has managed some of the biggest teams in world football and has won the UEFA Champions League a whopping five times. He also has one of the deepest and strongest Brazil teams in recent memory, led by players such as Vinicius Jr. and Raphinha, with the injured Neymar expected to be fit in time for the knockouts.

That means that Scotland will need to win at least one of their remaining two games if they are to qualify, which is likely to be a major challenge. They will remain in Boston for the time being and are set to play against Morocco on June 20, before taking on Brazil in their final group stage game at Miami Stadium.
