Chelsea and Barcelona have met in some memorable Champions League clashes in the last couple of decades. 

Fernando Torres’s late leveller at the Camp Nou to send Chelsea through to the 2012 showpiece will live long in the memory of Blues fans, while they will want to forget the time Andres Iniesta curled in a 90th-minute beauty at the Bridge at the same stage a few years earlier. 

The two sides are very different to how they were then but they could still serve up a cracker.

Chelsea are progressing nicely under Enzo Maresca but they are still a young side, and while the same can be said of Barca, the Spaniards are further along in their development.

It’s not often you get 17-10 about the La Liga champions, who have scored 14 goals in their last four outings.

The Belgians have found the step up to this class difficult, losing 4-0 at home to both Newcastle and Inter and 3-1 at Atletico Madrid after a dream opening victory by the same scoreline at PSV Eindhoven.

Galatasaray are formidable on home soil and can form the cornerstone of a Champions League acca on Tuesday night. 

They can get the job done against Union Saint-Gilloise, while Barcelona look a tasty proposition to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Toon have a difficult fixture to negotiate at Marseille but they have done most of their good work at St James’ Park this term. 

Newcastle will be confident after beating Manchester City at the weekend and they have won their last three games in the league phase away to USG (4-0) and at home against Benfica (3-0) and Athletic Bilbao (2-0).
