Thursday’s football betting tips
Bet of the Day – Viktoria Plzen to beat Freiburg @ 2/1
Viktoria Plzen are unbeaten in their four Europa League ties this season and the Czechs continue to be underrated by the market.
Martin Hysky’s men have picked up draws against Fenerbahce and Ferencvaros, and wins against Roma and Malmo, which rates strong form.
Ferencvaros are unbeaten in the Europa League themselves, Roma sit at the top of the Serie A table and Fenerbahce have avoided defeat in their last ten matches.
Viktoria Plzen have lost only one of their last ten games and Hysky’s men look to have a better than 2/1 chance against Freiburg.
The Breisgau Brazilians have been performing pretty well this term, but Julian Schuster’s side suffered a confidence and energy sapping 6-2 loss at Bayern Munich at the weekend and they could struggle to recover from that defeat in Plzen.
Longshot of the Day – Feyenoord to win, over 2.5 goals & Ayase Ueda to score two or more bet builder @ 15/2
Celtic are yet to seal the deal for a permanent replacement for former manager Brendan Rogers and the Bhoys rate a long way short of the required level needed to compete in European football.
The Hoops were saved by a last-gasp strike from Callum McGregor in a 1-0 win at St Mirren at the weekend and the expected goal totals of that tie finished 1.53 to 0.88 in favour of the Buddies.
Martin O’Neill’s side have lost to Midtjylland and Braga in the Europa League this term, and with Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alistair Johnston, Jota and Kelechi Iheanacho out injured, Celtic are unlikely to get a result at Feyenoord.
The Club on the Meuse have had their only injury issues this season, but Robin van Persie’s side have hit 13 goals in their last five matches and should continue in the scoring groove.
Forward Ayase Ueda has found the net 15 times in 23 appearances for club and county this season and the Japanese star can trouble a depleted Celtic defence.
The 27-year-old hit a hattrick against Heracles earlier in the campaign and struck from close range in an international friendly contest against Brazil last month.
Playing Feyenoord to win, over 2.5 goals and Ueda to score two or more goals in a bet builder could reap rewards.
Special of the Day – Porto to beat Nice, PAOK to beat Brann & Bologna to beat Salzburg treble @ 37/20
Porto have established themselves as Portugal’s top team this season and the Dragons can see off a Nice side who have lost all of their last four matches.
PAOK have won eight of their last nine games, a run which includes Europa League victories over Lille and Young Boys. Brann failed to hit a single shot on target in their latest Europa League tie at Bologna and they look likely to struggle on their travels.
Bologna crushed Udinese 3-0 at the Bluenergy Stadium on Saturday and Vincenzo Italiano’s in-form side can collect another victory against Salzburg.
