Steve Nash’s hilarious reaction to Thunder star SGA’s MVP reflection
It is officially another MVP season for Oklahoma City Thunder superstar guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
The NBA announced Gilgeous-Alexander as the winner of the 2025-26 NBA Most Valuable Player Award on Sunday, with the Thunder franchise player appearing on NBA on Prime Video to speak about his latest achievement.
Asked by former 2006-07 NBA MVP and Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki what he would think about the MVP honor in 10 to 15 years, Gilgeous-Alexander said: “Probably something like damn I used to be nice.”
Meanwhile, another former league MVP, Steve Nash, interjected with a hilarious quip
“Yup, that’s how it feels,” said Nash, who, like Gilgeous-Alexander, won back-to-back NBA MVPs during his heydays with the Phoenix Suns. Nash won the 2004-05 and 2005-06 MVP awards.
“Hopefully I’m going to soccer practice, basketball practice, playing tennis in my free time and enjoying retirement life,” continued Gilgeous-Alexander.
You can watch the fun interaction between the Thunder star and the NBA legends here:
Dirk Nowitski: “What do you think will be going through your mind in 10-15 years when you look back on the 2 time MVP trophies?”
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: “Probably something like ‘Damn I used to be nice.’”
Steve Nash: “Yup, that’s how it feels.”

The 27-year-old Gilgeous-Alexander does not have to worry about what he’ll be doing over a decade down the road, at least for now.,
His entire focus is none other than on helping the Thunder defend their title and win another NBA championship.
The former NBA scoring champion is clearly at the height of his basketball career, but there’s still a ceiling for him to achieve more, given his age and the incredible composition and great outlook of the Thunder’s roster.
During the 2025-26 NBA regular season, the former Kentucky Wildcats star guard put up averages of 31.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.6 assists per contest.
