Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama hit with boo birds from Knicks fans before Game 3
San Antonio Spurs star big man Victor Wembanyama has already felt the heat from New York Knicks fans even before the start of Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Monday.
Right after stepping out of the hotel, Wembanyama was hit with deafening boos from Knicks fans as he made his way to the Spurs’ team bus. The towering French star didn’t seem too bothered by the boos, though, and even gave some of the fans a friendly gesture.

Wembanyama and the Spurs have bigger things to worry about than the behavior of Knicks fans. They are facing an uphill climb in the Finals after losing the first two games of the series at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Wemby must have already adjusted to the New York environment amid the NBA Finals. He was even spotted recently doing some artwork at a park, seemingly as a way to relax just before the battle with Jalen Brunson and the Knicks resumes.
Now, the Spurs look to return the favor to the Knicks, who are hosting their first NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden in New York for the first time since 1995.
Interestingly enough, San Antonio was also the team the Knicks played at MSG the last time an NBA Finals game took place in the building, and that was in Game 5 of the 1999 championship series that San Antonio won to clinch the crown.
Through two games in the Knicks series, Wemby has averaged 27.5 points on 40.5 percent shooting from the field, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.0 assists.
