Playing with someone like Victor Wembanyama on the San Antonio Spurs is like a cheat code, and one of his teammates compared it to getting hot in the Call of Duty video games.

After the Spurs’ Game 1 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals (WCF), Keldon Johnson discussed Wemby’s insane three-pointer that sent the game to double overtime. He couldn’t help but compare it to a huge kill streak in Call of Duty.

“If you ever play Call of Duty, and you get a 25 kill streak, it feels like he dropped a nuke down on the court,” said Johnson. “It was crazy. That was a big time shot.”

There are very few players like Wembanyama in the NBA. He is 7′ 4″ and a threat on offense and defense. Even his teammates just sit back and enjoy the ride at times.

The three-pointer from Wemby was made with less than a minute in overtime. This sent the game to double overtime, tying the game at 108.

In double overtime, the Spurs outscored the Thunder 14-7, securing the Game 1 win. This was big, as San Antonio is on the road for the first two games of the series.

Wemby scored 41 points in the contest and had 24 rebounds. He was the Spurs’ leading scorer by 17 points. He also outscored the Thunder’s two-time MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who had 24 points.

In his third season in the NBA, Wembanyama averaged 25 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. His point total was the highest average in his career.

He was previously selected with the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Wemby had started his playing career in 2021 in France, first playing for the Nanterre 92. He was a 2026 NBA All-Star and was named Defensive Player of the Year for his efforts.
