Spoiler alert: Former AEW star finally debuts in WWE in front of hometown during SmackDown taping

While she has been with the company since June 2025, Blake Monroe made her WWE main roster debut during a taping of Friday Night SmackDown in her hometown of London, England.

On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, WWE filmed the June 26 edition of SmackDown at The O2 Arena in London, which serves as the go-home episode before Night of Champions on June 27, which emanates from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

A match took place between Kiana James and Giulia, with the latter picking up the victory. Afterward, the former AEW star attacked Giulia, making her official main roster debut. Fans in the United States will have to wait until June 26 to watch the segment, though.

Monroe, who formerly went by Mariah May in AEW, had spent her entire tenure with WWE in NXT since joining the company in June 2025. Now, after an NXT Women’s North American Championship reign, she is ready for the main roster.

When can fans see former AEW star Blake Monroe’s WWE main roster debut on SmackDown?

Fans in attendance at SmackDown on June 23 got to see Monroe’s debut early. However, most fans will have to wait until the episode airs on June 26.

Before joining WWE, May gained notoriety in World Wonder Ring Stardom and AEW. While in Tony Khan’s wrestling promotion, she won the AEW Women’s Championship once. Her reign lasted 174 days before she lost it to Toni Storm.

Upon her NXT debut, May debuted under a new ring name, Blake Monroe, and began teaming up with Jordynne Grace. Eventually, she turned on Grace, and the two had a feud.

In October 2025, Monroe beat Zaria, who was wrestling on behalf of an injured Sol Ruca, to win the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Her reign lasted 52 days until she lost to Thea Hail in a botched ending. Ahead of her SmackDown debut, vignettes started airing that teased her main roster call-up.
