Son of heavyweight legend Hasim Rahman signs deal with bare-knuckle promotion

Hasim Rahman’s son Sharif Rahman has signed a multi-fight deal with bare-knuckle promotion BKB.

Heavyweight legend Rahman Sr is notorious for famously knocking out Lennox Lewis 25 years ago to become heavyweight champion.

He also shared the ring with greats such as Evander Holyfield and Wladimir Klitschko during his stellar career.

His son has been looking to follow in his footsteps and has fought nine times as a professional boxer, winning all nine of the contests.

But now in a surprise move, the 30-year-old Sharif has decided to put down the gloves and use his bare knuckles.

Rahman Jr has signed with the promotion for a multi-fight deal during his physical prime.

And he is excited to have made the decision, believing he can become one of the best in the sport.

He explained: “I’ve carried this family name my whole career and I’ve never lost.

“Bare-knuckle is a new test, no gloves, no excuses, just pure skill and heart.

“And I’m bringing my undefeated record to BKB to prove I belong among the best in the trigon.”

The young Rahman joins a growing table full of big names including JoJo Diaz, Lee Selby, Victor Ortiz and Alfred Angulo who have all blazed their own trails in the traditional ranks.

Rahman’s fights will be shown exclusively live on the talkSPORT Boxing YouTube channel, a destination for BKB fights.

Big excitement for Sharif Rahman’s arrival

There is much excitement upon the arrival of Rahman, who brings another big name and big eyes on to the bare-knuckle ranks.

He last fought in 2024 and is keen to get his activity back underway.

The CEO of BKB David Tetreault has big plans for Rahman, and added: “Sharif has boxing in his blood and a 9-0 record to back it up.

“Signing a talented, unbeaten fighter with a name like Rahman is another massive statement for BKB.

“We can’t wait to see him test that perfect record inside our trigon.”

The news comes just hours after his father Hasim had his own comeback fight cancelled.
