Skip Bayless fires another blunt take on Fever’s Caitlin Clark after fake report

Sports commentator Skip Bayless on Sunday was called out by WNBA reporters after making a false report that the Indiana Fever had already fired coach Stephanie White over repeated spats with guard Caitlin Clark.

ESPN’s Alexa Philippou and The Indianapolis Star’s Chloe Peterson quickly refuted Bayless’ baseless claim, stressing that White is still with the Fever, as confirmed by the team.

Now, instead of apologizing, the 74-year-old Bayless is trying to snake out of his faulty information by moving the goalposts.

“Now they’re saying reports are erroneous about Stephanie White. But the point is, she won’t last much longer clashing during games with CAITLIN CLARK, even if her issues with Caitlin are mostly valid,” wrote Bayless on X.

As of writing, he still has not deleted his initial post.

The Fever have dropped to a 4-3 record after losing back-to-back assignments to the Portland Fire and the Golden State Valkyries. The Fire held Clark to a season-low six points on 1-of-7 shooting.

Indiana still has plenty of time to right the ship and go on a run. White led the team to the semifinals last season despite Clark being limited to just 13 games due to various injuries. The Fever were just a win away from advancing to the WNBA Finals.

Fans continued to call out Bayless after his latest take.

“In other words, your journalistic report was completely erroneous. There. Fixed it!” said @Vegas_Analytics.

“No, the point is you took something you saw on a KNOWN troll account and posted it as fact,” added @HedgeHider1978.

“So you aren’t going to own that you had bad sourcing or were just wrong? That’s typical Skip,” wrote @TheSoloSideline.

“Shut up! You lied about her (White). If she gets fired at some point, it’ll be because she’s trying to hold a cone on defense accountable,” claimed @HighestOneYet.

“STFU and do some fact-checking just ONCE instead of running your mouth. I know you’re click-baiting, and it worked, but it’s so tired,” commented @scorpiock8.

The Fever will host the Atlanta Dream at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday.
