Shedeur Sanders reveals the concern he’s been dealing with in training camp
Shedeur Sanders has a lot on his plate during Cleveland Browns training camp. The biggest of which is battling for the starting QB position over DeShaun Watson.
In addition, Sanders is nursing a blister on his hand he sustained from throwing the ball too much during the offseason. He is now sharing it after practice on Wednesday, per Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.
He said it’s something he is trying to “work through”.

Sanders is coming off a season in which he made 7 starts. Altogether, he had a 56.6% completion rate, 1,400 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Furthermore, Sanders finished with a QB rating of 68.1% as well as 169 rushing yards and one touchdown.
In January, the Browns hired Todd Monken as head coach. He is now in a position to figure out how to divide opportunities for both Sanders and Watson. Monken indicated that Sanders and Watson will each get a start during the preseason.
Some are questioning Watson as the choice for starting QB based on the thinking that he is not the future for the Browns and Sanders is. Then there is Watson’s longstanding battle with injuries.
If anything, Sanders sustaining a blister on his hand from throwing too much is a sign. A sign that he is determined to earn the starting QB position and defuse any doubts about his abilities.
The Browns’ preseason begins on Saturday, Aug. 15, against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field at noon CST/1 pm EST. It is still unknown as to whether it will be Sanders or Watson starting.
