Secret details of Cristiano Ronaldo’s wedding to Georgina Rodriguez ‘leaked’ but he cannot deliver on one vow

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to marry fiancee Georgina Rodriguez on his home island of Madeira.

The couple will reportedly tie the knot at a cathedral in Funchal next Saturday (August 8).

And they’re said to have booked the nearby five-star Savoy Palace hotel for their wedding reception.

A source told The Sun: “Guests at the hotel have been told two floors will be out of use on Friday and Saturday, as well as several bar areas.”

Ronaldo was born in Funchal, the capital of Madeira – an archipelagic autonomous region of Portugal around 500 miles south-west of the mainland.

He began his youth career with local clubs Andorinha and Nacional before joining Sporting Lisbon as a 12-year-old.

Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been in a relationship since 2016.

The superstar striker, 41, got engaged to the Argentine-Spanish model, 32, last August.

Ronaldo had previously said the pair had planned to marry after this summer’s World Cup.

In fact, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner told Piers Morgan: “I hope to arrive at my wedding with the [World Cup] trophy.”

Unfortunately for Ronaldo, that dream ended as Portugal were knocked out of the tournament by Spain in the last 16.

The Portugal captain has not retired from international football but did confirm he had played his last World Cup game.

With 233 caps and 146 goals, he is the most-capped and highest-scoring international footballer of all time.

Ronaldo met Rodriguez while he was playing for Real Madrid.

He revealed she was the only woman he’d dated who he felt like settling down with.

Nowadays, Ronaldo continues to play his club football in Saudi Arabia for Al-Nassr, who he captained to the 2025/26 Saudi Pro League title.

He still has just under a year left to run on his contract in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

As such, he’s set to still be playing professionally beyond his 42nd birthday in February.

Ronaldo is now managed by former Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, who was appointed by Al-Nassr last month.

Meanwhile, away from the pitch, Ronaldo has been tipped for a surprise move into acting.
