Seattle Seahawks vs Los Angeles Rams odds, predictions, and betting tips – NFC West rivals one win away from the Super Bowl
The Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams meet for a third time this season and, this time, it’s for a place in the Super Bowl. Seattle haven’t been to the big game since their ‘Legion of Boom’ era. L.A. are vying for a second appearance (and victory) in four years.
These two finished with more wins than everyone else in the NFC, but only one could win the West and claim the number 1 seed. That ended up being Seattle after a dramatic week 16 encounter between the two swung things firmly in their favour.
The game at Lumen Field went to overtime with both teams locked at 30-30. Sam Darnold found league-leading receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a touchdown, and then unlikely hero Eric Saubert for a two-point conversion to snatch victory after the Rams began the extra period with a touchdown of their own. The Seahawks’ win tied the head-to-head, with the Rams having edged a cagier first meeting 21-19 at SoFi Stadium.
The Rams would go on to lose the following week too, and had to settle for second place in the division at 12-5. The Seahawks won their last two, including a title decider against the San Francisco 49ers, to finish 14-3.
With these two almost impossible to separate during the regular season, it seemed somewhat inevitable they’d meet one last time.
Seahawks vs Rams best bets

- Sam Darnold to throw an interception – 7/10 with BetMGM
Mike Macdonald is aiming to take the Seahawks to the Super Bowl in just his second season in charge and it’s also quarterback Sam Darnold’s first since moving from Minnesota. Two years ago, the former third overall pick was on the NFL scrap heap – moving from team to team to serve as backup. He has really found a home on the West Coast.
The Rams have had a settled coach and quarterback tandem for some time, Sean McVay had already been in charge for four seasons when the team made a sensational quarterback swap with the Detroit Lions ahead of the 2021/22 season – receiving Matthew Stafford in exchange for Jared Goff. Stafford and McVay lifted the Lombardi in their first season together.
The game will also once again pit the top two receivers in 2025 against each other – the aforementioned Smith-Njigba and Puka Nacua. Nacua had more catches than anyone else during the regular season, and ten more than JSN, with 129. In terms of yardage, however, the Seattle wideout came out on top with 1,793 to Nacua’s 1,715. With his two playoff performances, however, Nacua now leads JSN by 60 yards – 1,882 to 1,812. It’s hard to imagine anyone else being the most targeted player on either team in this game.
Seahawks vs Rams preview
Seattle, in claiming the number 1 seed, have had a much simpler route to get here. They’ve played just one home game – instead of two away games – and defeated the 49ers for the second time in a fortnight, dismantling them 41-6. The Rams, meanwhile, are hitting the road for a third week in succession having battled their way past the spirited Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears.
Home-field advantage through these playoffs was always going to be huge for Seattle – their fans are renowned for being the loudest in US sports, with noise levels in previous years breaking Guinness World Records and causing seismic activity. Celebrations of Rashid Shaheed’s kick return touchdown to start the game this past Saturday created a similar rumble to that of the famous ‘Beast Quake’ play back in 2011, which registered on the Richter scale!
That was undoubtedly the highlight of a game in which the 49ers struggled to compete, with mounting injuries to key players eventually taking a toll on a threadbare-looking roster. Sam Darnold was barely needed – he threw just 17 passes – while Kenneth Walker III ran 19 times, clocking 116 yards and three touchdowns. They did, however, lose their other rusher – Zach Charbonnet – to a torn ACL.
While their place in the Championship Game was never in doubt, the Rams have been involved in two real scraps. They needed a spectacular sideline throw, and pirouette from tight end Colby Parkinson, to see off the Carolina Panthers with 38 seconds left in their Wild Card bout.
They were then stunned by Caleb Williams’ late heroics for the Chicago Bears, sending their Divisional Round matchup to overtime – which they eventually won with a field goal after intercepting Williams in a sudden death scenario.

Spread Odds Seattle Seahawks -2.5 17/20 Los Angeles Rams +2.5 19/20 Total points Odds Over 47 22/25 Under 47 19/20
Seattle are the fresher of the two teams and have won three big games against divisional rivals in the last four weeks. Those factors, plus the role that the ‘12s’ play in the Emerald City, are likely the main reasons why the Seahawks are favoured here.
The Seahawks have now won seven home games this season, and the Rams have won seven away with their respective postseason victories.
I would lean the over on the points total – the 38-37 scoreline from just a few weeks ago would’ve smashed that total and these were the two highest-scoring teams in the NFC, with the Rams being the only team in the entire NFL to tally over 500 points (ending with 518).
Here are three props I’d look at closely in what should be a game featuring aggressive playcalling and high big-play potential.
Another heavy workload for ‘K9’
With Zach Charbonnet exiting during the second quarter of the 49ers game, Kenneth Walker III became the one and only rushing option for the Seahawks – and he well and truly stepped up to the plate. ‘K9’ ran for 116 yards from 19 carries, finding the end zone three times. He also scored more yards than JSN in the receiving game! His three catches went for 29 yards, compared to JSN’s three for 19.
Walker also broke a 55-yard run against the Rams last time out, which was his longest of the season and helped him achieve his best yards-per-carry (9.1) in a single game in 2025. Even more interesting, however, are his receiving numbers. His best two games for catching out of the backfield have both come against these same opponents – he recorded 64 yards in the week 16, 44 in the mid-November meeting.
The bookies are, of course, aware of the absence of one half of Seattle’s two-headed monster – you need to back K9 for at least 90 yards on the ground to get a price of Evens or better. Going for his combined rushing and receiving yardage, however, may make for good value. 125 or more pays out at 6/4 with BetMGM.
Back Kenneth Walker III to register 125+ all-purpose yards against the Rams at 6/4 with BetMGM
Cooper Kupp a key man against former side
Seattle also have a former Super Bowl MVP to call upon. Cooper Kupp claimed the award – which very rarely goes to a non-quarterback – for his eight catches, including the winning touchdown, as the Rams triumphed over the Cincinnati Bengals four years ago.
Now in his thirties, Kupp will be on the opposite sideline after agreeing a three-year deal with the Seahawks during the last offseason. He may no longer be the 2,000+ yard guy the Rams had back in 2021/22, but he has been a perfectly solid sidekick for JSN – and still has the ‘clutch gene’. It was his crucial sideline catch in overtime against the Rams a month ago that helped set up the pair of game-winning end zone plays.
It wasn’t surprising to see the Seahawks dial up more plays for him last week either – he caught all five passes thrown his way for 60 yards. He is still a player who thrives in the playoffs and, if the Rams aim to blanket JSN, I’d expect Kupp to be a go-to for Darnold once again.
Rather than take his over/under of 2.5 receptions – at a price of 7/10 – I’m backing him for another five catches, for which you can get odds of 15/4.
Bet on Cooper Kupp making at least five catches against the Rams at 15/4 with BetMGM
Rams defence to force another Darnold error
In helping the Seahawks to reach this stage, Sam Darnold has gone a long way to silencing the doubters who’ve questioned whether he can perform under the brightest of lights. The Rams, however, are an opponent he tends to struggle against.
It’ll be the fourth time he’s faced them in just over a year, having had his comeback season with the Minnesota Vikings brought to an unceremonious end by Chris Shula’s defence in the Wild Card round twelve months ago. They sacked him an incredible nine times as the Vikings’ offensive line fell apart.
They’ve also intercepted him six times in the two previous Seahawks-Rams games this season, and arrive into this having picked off Caleb Williams three times last weekend. With such explosive weapons on both offences, and both teams capable of scoring heavily, both quarterbacks know they’ll have to take aggressive shots downfield – or into tight coverage.
Of the two, Darnold is the more susceptible to turnovers – throwing 14 interceptions in the regular season to Stafford’s eight. He also becomes more error-prone when asked to throw more than 30 times – with 10 of his 14 interceptions coming in games where he surpassed that number.
With their four postseason picks, the Rams also upped their total of interceptions for the season to 20 (from 19 games) – cementing themselves as one of the most dangerous passing defences in the league. I’m backing them to produce another game-changing moment in this one.
Tip the Rams defence to intercept Sam Darnold at least once at 7/10 with BetMGM
