Season ending injury opens door for part time real estate agent with Super Bowl ring

Ahead of their defence of the Super Bowl, the Seattle Seahawks have lost a key member of the wide receiver room.

Fan favorite Jake Bobo went down after trying to make a catch in joint practice with the Tennessee Titans.

Almost immediately the reports from the touchline were not good.

“Seahawks WR Jake Bobo was carted off the practice field in Nashville a few minutes ago,” ESPN’s Brady Henderson posted to X, formerly Twitter.

“He went down after a target near the sideline and was getting his right leg looked at.”

Worst fears were then confirmed by Seahawks head coach Mike McDonald when he faced the media after practice and ahead of the preseason game between the teams on Saturday.

“Our heart goes out to Jake Bobo, it seems like it is going to be a serious knee,” Macdonald told reporters.

“We are going to get imagery, and it looks like it’s going to be a long-term injury, and that’s unfortunate.

“He’s a beast man, he is just a great football player, a great Seahawk and I think we have reflected that in our investment in him.

“We love him, we will be there beside him as he recovers and we are praying it’s going to be a speedy recovery.”

Bobo was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seahawks after the 2023 NFL Draft, and signed him to a two-year $5.5million deal matching an offer sheet from the Jacksonville Jaguars as he hit free agency

In his three years with the franchise, he has 34 catches for 323 yards and three touchdowns.

Bobo’s unfortunate injury opens the door for another wide receiver spot on the roster

Montorie Foster Jr. could go from real estate agent to WR4

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, and Rashid Shaheed are still roster locks and expected to take the bulk of the work.

But Bobo’s role as WR4 looks open and a star of the Seahawks Hard Knocks season could step up.

Montorie Foster Jr. was cut by the Seahawks this time last year having been signed as an undrafted free agent.

Injury was the reason for his departure, and while he was to return in December and earn himself a Super Bowl ring, and a Future contract in February he has not lost sight of the fact an NFL career is no guarantee.

Foster Jr worked part time as a substitute teacher and has gotten his real estate agent license in the offseason – and in Episode 3 of Hard Knocks he confirmed he is still maintaining his fees.

“Kind of was lost. Didn’t know where I wanted to go,” Foster Jr. said.

“That’s kind of how I got into substitute teaching. And then kept working. Got my real-estate license to keep myself busy and mind away from football.”

“During the offseason, I was doing open houses, I brought my Super Bowl ring to the open houses.

“I haven’t made a sale yet, but we’ve got some stuff brewing.”

Foster’s journey is the quintessential NFL underdog story, and Bobo’s unfortunate injury might just open the door for his big break.
