Seahawks sign receiver after placing Jake Bobo on season-ending injured reserve
The Seattle Seahawks have signed wide receiver Julian Hicks after placing Jake Bobo on season-ending injured reserve following a significant knee injury.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the roster moves Saturday, one day after Bobo suffered the injury during Seattle’s joint practice with the Tennessee Titans.
“Seahawks placed WR Jake Bobo on season-ending injured reserve, the result of the significant knee injury he suffered during Friday’s joint practice with the Titans,” Schefter wrote via X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Seattle signed WR Julian Hicks to fill the open roster spot.”
The move ends Bobo’s 2026 season before it officially begins and creates another change within Seattle’s receiving corps as the defending Super Bowl champions continue through the preseason.
Bobo, 28, appeared in 11 games during the 2025 season. He recorded two receptions on two targets for 20 yards during the campaign. His placement on injured reserve now opens the door for Hicks to compete for a role as Seattle evaluates its depth at receiver.
Hicks joins the Seahawks with limited time remaining before the regular season, making the team’s remaining preseason games particularly important as he gets acclimated to the offense.
Seattle will continue its preseason schedule Sunday against Tennessee after the teams held joint practices ahead of the matchup.
The Seahawks and Titans will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on FOX as Seattle continues evaluating its roster ahead of the 2026 NFL season.
