Ronnie O’Sullivan presented with five world records on debut at snooker event
Ronnie O’Sullivan was presented with five Guinness World Records certificates on his World Senior’s Snooker Championships debut.
The Rocket collected his awards at the Crucible in Sheffield to honour his whopping 19 world records – the latest of which came at the World Open in March.

It was there that O’Sullivan recorded a break of 153, eclipsing the previous high of 151 set 50 years ago.
The 50-year-old continues to set the standard in snooker and has broken a host of his own records over the past year.
He took his total of century breaks to 1,300 during his recent record-extending 219th at the World Championship.
That came in his 34th appearance at the showpiece tournament.
Last year, he became the oldest player to make a maximum 147 break in a professional event at the age of 49 years and 253 days, making two in the same match.
And he has proved that age is no barrier to his continued success having become the oldest winner of the UK Championship with his eighth title coming in 2023 – two days before his 48th birthday.
That came 30 years after his first win at the tournament, claiming the title of the youngest ever winner aged just 17 years and 358 days which still stands today.
His records extend to his collection of honours with O’Sullivan having accumulated the most career ranking titles with 41.
Among his glut of titles, 23 of them came at ‘Triple Crown’ tournaments to signal yet another record for the legendary potter.
O’Sullivan has eight Masters titles as well as Premier League titles to his name.

He boasts the joint-most World Championship titles with seven, tying with Stephen Hendry thanks to his most recent win in 2022.
Fast out of the blocks
The Rocket has shown he is quick off the mark too by beating Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 10-1 in 2020 to record the fastest time to win a World Championship match.
In 2003, he clocked up the fastest 147 break in five minutes and three seconds.
And he has banked the most points in a match without reply after amassing 556 against Ricky Walden at the 2014 Masters.
As a result of his decorated career, Guinness World Records presented O’Sullivan with certificates after his 4-1 win over Ken Doherty in their Seniors Championship second round match.
A spokesperson for Guinness World Records said: “Ronnie O’Sullivan has produced some of the most iconic moments in sporting history, so it’s a real privilege for Guinness World Records to recognise these achievements at the Crucible, a venue so closely tied to his career and legacy.

“From the fastest 147 break in snooker to this year’s incredible new highest break in snooker record, Ronnie has continued to redefine what’s possible in the sport across multiple decades at the very highest level.
“What makes record-breaking so special is its ability to inspire people. Ronnie’s career is a brilliant example of what can be achieved through talent, dedication and constantly pushing boundaries, and we hope moments like this encourage others to challenge themselves and be part of it too.”
