Rockies shocks fans by accomplishing feat not seen since 2022

Is Rocktober back? The Colorado Rockies just swept the Houston Astros and have won four straight games to surge back to .500 on the season. With a 6-6 record, the Rockies just accomplished a hilarious feat not seen since 2022. For the first time since 2022, the Rockies are .500 through 12 games.

150 games remain, but the Rockies are playing like a team that could compete at a much higher level compared to years in the past. This team has not been fun to watch for some time now, but in 2026, it seems as if those days are coming to an end. This roster has some talent on it, and it’s about damn time, also. Last week, Rockies star outfielder Mickey Moniak said he would cut off his finger if it meant he was playing in the playoffs.

This sweep of the Rockies has the fans going wild in Denver. During the game, as seen in the featured photo above, the fans were shirtless in one of the sections up top, going crazy as their team was playing very well against the Astros. Fans on social media are also having fun watching this team play.

Up next for the Rockies will be down in sunny San Diego for a 4-game series against the Padres. This will be the first meeting between the two NL West clubs in 2026. The Rockies have always given the Padres fits during the regular season, and with the way they are playing right now, they could easily win or split this series in SD at a minimum.

First pitch on Thursday night will be at 6:40 PT, with Randy Vasquez on the mound for the Friars. The Rockies have yet to determine a starter for the series opener.
