RJ Barrett punches Raptors’ ticket to Game 7 with OT game-winner

The Toronto Raptors live to see another day. Facing elimination on Friday night at home in their first-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Raptors, after a back-and-forth affair that saw the game go to overtime, took a 112-110 victory over the Cavs thanks to an incredible game-winning triple from RJ Barrett.

The Raptors went down 110-108 thanks to a Donovan Mitchell layup, and then on the ensuing possession, Toronto split a pair on the foul line. This put them down by just one, 110-109, with the shot clock off. They then buckled down on defense, picked up the Cavs for the length of the court, and forced a turnover — with Evan Mobley losing the ball along the sideline.

As a result, the Raptors got the ball back with a little over 10 seconds left in the game. This set the stage for Barrett’s game-winner, as he pulled from beyond the arc over the outstretched arms of Mobley — with his shot ricocheting off the back of the rim and down through the twine, giving Toronto a lead they would not relinquish.

The Cavs still had a chance to win the game on the final possession of the game, but once again, Mobley could not get it done, as his shot fell short and hit the front rim.

Game 7 between the Raptors and Cavs will be on Sunday night.
