Pistons end historic losing streak with Game 2 win over Magic
The Detroit Pistons left Game 1 stunned and embarrassed by the Orlando Magic. That NBA Playoffs defeat extended an alarming streak too.
However, Wednesday’s 98-83 romp over the Magic snapped a historic 11-game home postseason slide. Detroit hadn’t won a home playoff victory in 18 years.

That Pistons team were led by franchise legends Richard “Rip” Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince and Rasheed Wallace. Hamilton and fellow Pistons legend Ben Wallace attended Game 2 to watch the stunning streak snap.
Both 2004 NBA Finals champions witnessed Cade Cunningham go off on the floor. Cunningham set the tone scoring wise by dropping nine points through the first nine minutes. That includes throwing down this one-handed slam by charging through the open inside lane:

This part likely pleased Wallace: Detroit created a block party in front of the legendary center. The Pistons swatted an astonishing seven blocks in one quarter, matching a postseason record.

Jalen Suggs rose as another who cooked the Magic, dropping 13 points before the four minute mark of the second quarter.

Six different Pistons hit double figures in scoring. The NBA All-Star guard Cunningham took the leading scorer title by dropping 27 in 37 minutes. He took the facilitator role too, dishing out 11 assists to lead Detroit.
Tobias Harris placed second in scoring by delivering 16 points and led the charge with 11 rebounds. Ausar Thompson added 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting and collected eight rebounds. Jalen Duren chipped in 11 as well, plus came within one rebound of netting a double-double. Javonte Green led the Pistons in executing three blocks.
The Pistons pounded Orlando down low too, outscoring the Magic 54-34 in points in the paint. Orlando delivered the reverse of that total during its Game 1 win.
