Patrick Williams shares unbothered reaction to firings after dropping season high

The Chicago Bulls are adjusting to a new way of being following the firings of VP Arturas Karnisovas and GM Marc Eversely. On Tuesday, they visited the Washington Wizards and ended their seven-game losing streak with a 129-98 victory.

In the process, Patrick Williams finished with a season high of 20 points. Afterward, Williams kept things in perspective, per K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Sports Network.

“It’s no secret there’s a lot going on outside of these four lines here, so we just tried to focus on this game and focus on basketball,” Williams said.

At the same time, Williams received criticism from fans for saying flattering things about Karnisovas and Eversely after they were fired.

As a result, the Bulls are now 30-49 with three games remaining in the regular season. The Bulls are already eliminated from the playoffs and the play-in tournament.

Lately, Williams has been heavily criticized for his performance on the floor. He’s demonstrated periods of inconsistency, and many say he’s become an overpaid, underperforming player. Furthermore, Williams has endured injuries.

In June 2024, the Bulls signed Williams to a five-year $90 million contract extension until the 2028-29 season.

Altogether, Williams has played in 69 games this season. He’s averaged 6.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.

On Thursday, the Bulls will play a second game against the Wizards. Then, they will be back in Chicago to play their final home game against the Orlando Magic. On Sunday, the Bulls will play their last game of the season on the road against the Dallas Mavericks.
