Pat McAfee shuts down negative rumors about Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s ‘spectacular’ wedding

While there were reports that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding was “tacky,” former NFL punter Pat McAfee is here to debunk the rumors.

During the Monday, July 13, 2026, edition of The Pat McAfee Show, the host raved about the “spectacular” wedding. He acknowledged that he didn’t know how much he could say, but he wasn’t going to stand for the slander.

“That was the most spectacular evening that I’ve ever been a part of. I can’t wait to chit-chat about that throughout the day,” he raved. “I’m sure there was something that I agreed to to not talk about it, but from the things I have been reading about other people talking about… It’s all just memory.”

He joked that he doesn’t “have much in this world,” outside of his tank top collection, his Pittsburgh accent, his once-strong legs, and his memory.

McAfee wasn’t happy about hearing the criticisms, though he conceded that people can have their own opinions about the wedding shutting down parts of New York City around Madison Square Garden. However, the wedding was still a blast.

“The event itself was the most spectacular, grand thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Taylor Swift is one of the greatest creators that the world’s ever seen. She puts on stadium shows all around the globe. She has to entertain people that are 90 and also that are 15.”

Swift and Kelce’s wedding brought sports and Hollywood together for a star-studded affair. McAfee also raved about Paul McCartney’s historic performance. He also stated that Avril Lavigne played as well, in addition to McCartney and Stevie Nicks.

Above all else, the wedding really “showcased” that Swift and Kelce truly are in love, and that it’s not a PR relationship. Ultimately, don’t believe everything you hear and read.

McAfee concluded, “Anything negative that has ever been thought about what that event was, as somebody that was not supposed to be there… me and my wife were very excited and thankful, we let them know. We had a blast — it was incredible.”
