Osasuna stars celebrate during Getafe fans’ pitch invasion in wholesome LaLiga moment
Osasuna’s players and staff may never celebrate after a loss quite like they did on Saturday ever again.
The Pamplona-based side was one of five LaLiga clubs at risk of relegation on the final day of the season.

Joining Osasuna in the relegation race were Mallorca, Girona, Elche and Levante.
Alessio Lisci’s side also had the difficult task of facing Getafe, who boast the third-best defensive record in the league and had European aspirations of their own.
Adding to the difficulty of Osasuna’s assignment was the fact Getafe were at home.
Getafe, who strangely enough have the league’s second-worst attacking record, went on to win 1-0 courtesy of Luis Milla’s strike in the 58th minute.
The victory booked Getafe’s spot in next season’s Conference League, marking their first foray into European football since the 2019/20 campaign.
Getafe’s achievement sparked a wave of joy among the Azulones faithful, who poured onto the pitch at the Estadio Coliseum at full-time.
As for Osasuna, the loss meant they had to nervously wait for the full-time score between Girona and Elche in the hope their status as a LaLiga club would remain intact for another season.
Girona, who are owned by the City Football Group and were in the Champions League last season, needed to beat Elche to have any hope of staying up.
However, Girona failed to find a second goal as Arnau Martinez cancelled out Alvaro Rodriguez’s first-half goal for Elche.
Party time back in Pamplona
With Girona’s inability to win, Osasuna’s players, who crowded around a phone whilst surrounded by Getafe fans, quickly became delirious and bounced around in joy.

There was also plenty of emotion on the players’ faces, including long-time Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera, who couldn’t hold back the tears as he was embraced.
Midfielder Aimar Oroz was another who was visibly emotional and wiped away his tears with his substitute bib.
The 24-year-old even posed for a picture alongside supporters.
Joining Osasuna in the joy of staying up were Elche, who just needed to avoid defeat against Girona on the final day to avoid relegation.
Levante also stayed up, even though they lost 2-1 to Real Betis.
Who got relegated from LaLiga?
However, it was not an afternoon to remember for Mallorca, who will join Girona in the Segunda Division next term.

Despite beating Real Oviedo 3-0, Mallorca needed Girona to beat Elche, Getafe to beat Osasuna and Levante to either win or draw against Betis.
But with Girona failing to hold up their end of the bargain, Mallorca’s stint in LaLiga came to an end.
Real Oviedo round out the relegated trio from LaLiga, having already been confirmed for the drop three games ago.
