Odell Beckham Jr. wants to be ‘asset’ for Malik Nabers with Giants

The New York Giants started the offseason with not much wide receiver depth, and just in one week, they’ve rebuilt that room with several veterans. Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the receivers the Giants signed, and it was a long-awaited reunion between both sides.

Beckham will do more than just catch passes for the Giants this season, as he’ll be looked to be one of the veterans to help the young players. He and Malik Nabers already have a relationship due to their LSU ties, and Beckham was asked how he could be valuable to the young receiver this season.

“I think I could be a great asset for him,” Beckham said. “Even when I wasn’t here, I was hitting him up like, ‘Yo, I know how [the media] is. We come from the same place. We want to win that bad. There’s a way to do everything, and I think with everybody else, they learn from their own mistakes.”

Beckham also knows what it feels like to have an ACL injury, and he could help Nabers in that area as well.

“When you go through an injury like that, for a minute it hardens you, but it also gives you a lot of experience, and a lot of knowledge,” Beckham said. “You get to learn a lot about yourself. Through this process, which has been a tough process, but I think he’s going to come out on the other end better. I can’t wait to see him back on the field.”

Nabers is still recovering from his ACL injury, and it’s uncertain when he’ll be ready to return. Luckily, he has someone like Beckham who can help him navigate the process in hopes that he can come back to play at a high level.
