Norway vs Senegal prediction

The Norwegians are playing in their first World Cup in a generation (1998), yet despite their long absence from the international top table, possess a real strong attack with Erling Haaland, Martin Odegaard and Antonio Nusa leading a squad coming off a 4-1 win over Iraq in its first group game.

And manager Stolle Solbakken has been bullish before the game; “I’m not afraid of anything, but I do have great respect for Senegal.”

As for Senegal, they more than held their own for most of their opening match against France. Especially in their first half performance, before Les Bleus’ array of attacking took over and won them the match.

Senegal gaffer Pape Thiaw underlined the importance of the occasion and stressed the mentality within the camp. He said: “We are in a tough group; we knew this coming into the tournament.”

Thiaw added: “All three games are like finals; we have lost the first one, but there is still everything to play for. But we cannot get this wrong [against Norway]; everyone is ready and wants to get stuck in and put in a good shift. We are ready to die for Africa and Senegal.”

Norway vs Senegal betting tips

Nusa’s nuisance

RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa was one of the standouts for Norway in qualifiers, totaling two goals and three assists to clinch his country’s spot. The winger’s presence in this game will be massive to support Haaland.

He failed to register in the win over Iraq so will be intent on making an impression in a match where the Norwegians could all but seal a place in the round of 32.

While we’re hedging our bets with 3/2 about a goal or assist from Nusa. There’s 10/1 with Tote that he gets on the scoresheet AND registers an assist.

Haaland to score again

Haaland has found the net in each of the last 11 competitive games for Norway, striking multiple times in the most recent five of those appearances and maintaining a prolific rhythm.

The Manchester City forward has bagged at least one goal in 17 of the last 20 competitive international fixtures for Norway, stretching back to the beginning of 2023.

If Norway are playing. Haaland is scoring. And we’re backing him to do that again tonight.

Goals on the menu

Senegal’s main issues lie in defence, where recent World Cup history exposes their problems. Among the 48 nations in 2026 World Cup, only Saudi Arabia (18 games), hold a longer active run without a clean sheet at the tournament than Senegal as things stand.

Across their last six international matches Norway have scored in five of these. With both nations desperate for three points we could see a goal-fest.
