Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon are on Nuggets’ injury report for Thunder game
The Denver Nuggets are scheduled to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday. While the club has a chance to secure the No. 3 seed in the next two games, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon all popped up on the latest injury report before the contest.
All three of the Nuggets’ stars are ruled questionable for the matchup against the Thunder. The franchise also ruled Peyton Watson and Spencer Jones out for the game. Jokic is dealing with a right wrist issue, Murray has a shoulder injury, and Gordon is suffering from problems in his right hamstring.
Nuggets’ Injury Report vs. Thunder
Nikola Jokic – Questionable: Right Wrist; Injury Management
Jamal Murray – Questionable: Right Shoulder; Impingement
Aaron Gordon – Questionable: Right Hamstring; Injury Management
Peyton Watson – Out: Right Hamstring; Strain
Spencer Jones – Out: Right Hamstring; Strain
The good news is that it doesn’t appear any of the injuries are too serious. Injury management suggests that both Jokic and Gordon could play, but they may sit just for extra rest before the playoffs. Meanwhile, Murray is dealing with a rotator cuff issue.
Denver owns a 1.5-game lead over the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets with just two games remaining in the regular season. The Nuggets seem to be in line for the No. 3 seed, but the final two games of the campaign could switch things up at the last minute.
Either way, the Nuggets seem likely to be playing either the Lakers, Rockets, or Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The postseason doesn’t officially begin until April 18 after the play-in tournament.
