Marti Cifuentes’ short reign as Leicester manager came to an end on Sunday afternoon after just six months in charge, after a 2-1 defeat at home against 23rd place Oxford left them 14th in the Championship table despite being among the pre-season favourites for promotion.
Five defeats in the Foxes’ last eight games has seen the Spaniard, who had been managing QPR for most of the previous two seasons, relieved of his duties in the east Midlands and has left the Thai owner on the hunt for a new manager.
talkSPORT BET are pricing Andy King as the current 2/1 favourite to be named as Cifuentes’ replacement, and the former Leicester midfielder has also been announced as the caretaker manager for the time being.
The 37-year-old has never managed a senior football match before but has been on the books at the Foxes’ coaching staff since last season, following a play career that saw the Welshman make 379 appearances for the club, which saw him become the only player to win the League One, Championship and Premier League titles with the same club.

Russell Martin is currently priced as the second favourite to be named the next manager in the King Power Stadium’s hotseat.
The 40-year-old achieved promotion with Southampton in his last season managing in the Championship, and is currently without a job following his sacking in October from Rangers after a disastrous spell in Glasgow.
Lee Carsley is another name being linked with the Leicester job. The current England U21 manager is priced as third favourite at 6/1 to become the new Foxes boss after a couple of trophy laden spells with the FA which has seen the Irishman win each of the last Euro U21 Championships.
English pair Steven Gerrard and Gary O’Neil are both priced at 8/1 as fourth favourites. Neither have managed in the second tier before but the former has been out of a job for 12 months now following his departure from Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, though the latter has recently been announced as the new Strasbourg manager in France.
