Pontefract

Soca Star once placed close behind Venetian Sun but has consistently placed close behind winners, but has never been able to step up to the task since.

She too placed just two lengths off of Naana’s Shadow who has since gone on to win at the Derby festival at Epsom and then again at York climbing the ratings.

But she faced a very weak field last time out and couldn’t place better than fifth of eight.

Tropbien

Longer trip will suit Tropbien but he will need the improvement to come against Happiness who placed third over this distance earlier this month.

Oisin Murphy is back on board and looks set to eke out improvement on this horse.

Rydale Frosty

Interesting three-year-old who came a respectable fifth last time out, has course and distance form and looks very dangerous given weight by his elders.

This roan grey horse by Havana Grey was gelded before returning this season and may well be at a dangerous weight judging by that last effort over 6f.
