Mitch Marner’s natural hat trick sparks dominant Game 3 win over Ducks
The Vegas Golden Knights have expressed concern over their play against the Anaheim Ducks in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, they will likely be very pleased with their efforts on Friday night. Mitch Marner led a dominant effort against the Ducks in Game 3, and Vegas now has a 2-1 series lead.
Marner scored a natural hat trick in Game 3 against Anaheim. His effort was the driving force behind a 6-2 win over Anaheim at the Honda Center. As mentioned, the Golden Knights now have the series lead in this second-round series. And they are two wins away from returning to the Western Conference Finals.
Vegas got off to a 2-0 lead in the first period. With five seconds remaining, Marner scored his first. He got one on the power play to help Vegas go into the locker room with a 3-0 lead.
Marner went on to score both goals in the second period, as well. He got his second a little bit after the halfway mark. And he scored another late goal, this time with around two minutes remaining in the middle frame.
The Golden Knights did allow a couple of goals in the third period. However, it was nowhere near enough. Vegas put the icing on the cake with a Brett Howden empty net goal in the final frame.
Marner is enjoying the best postseason of his career to this point. The Golden Knights star is making a massive impact. And he now has his team ever-so-close to the 2026 Western Conference Finals with his latest standout effort.
