Mariners’ Fans up in arms over Dan Wilson’s Luis Castillo-Bryce Miller decision
The Seattle Mariners are looking to catch the Athletics in the AL West. While the Mariners have dealt with a rash of injuries, they are still in contention in the division.
The team is set to open up a three-game set with the Athletics on Monday, and now Dan Wilson is giving an update on who will be the starting pitcher on Monday, per Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times.
“Luis Castillo will start tomorrow in Sacramento. Bryce Miler will follow in the piggyback,” Divish posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Castillo has not been great this year. He is 1-5 with a 6.41 ERA, making nine starts and ten total appearances. Last time out, he came in the game last time out in relief, giving up two runs in 2.1 innings of work. This was noticed of some fans as well.

Others called this a horrible move, considering Miller has been the better pitcher this year, with a 1.64 ERA.
probably a good idea lol teams clearly not serious about winning and now yall have to deal with the fallout

Miller has made just two starts this year, pitching 11 innings and giving up two runs. In his last start, he went five and two-thirds of an inning, giving up just one hit and one walk while striking out seven.
Bryan Woo, Logan Gilbert, George Kirby, and Emerson Hancock fill out the rest of the rotation for the Mariners, not leaving room for both pitchers unless the team moved to a six-man rotation.
The Mariners are 25-28 heading into Sunday, a game and a half back of the Athletics. They are currently up 1-0 on the Kansas City Royals in the fourth inning. They will open their three game set with the A’s on Monday.
