Manny Pacquiao team member explains why Floyd Mayweather rematch collapsed
Floyd Mayweather is embroiled in several contract battles which has derailed the sequel with Manny Pacquiao.
That is according to the information provided by CEO of Manny Pacquiao Promotions Jas Mathur, who has discussed the behind-the-scenes chaos.

Mayweather and Pacquiao had been set to meet in September, but the bout was subject to so many obstacles.
The American was threatened over breach of contract, having suggested he didn’t see the bout as a professional clash.
‘Money’ also took financial advances from his signed agreement, which caused further chaos.
Outside of their agreement, Mayweather had also signed to face Mike Tyson and greek kickboxing legend Mike Zambidis.
But the latter was cancelled at the weekend, and a clash with Tyson is up in the air, as legal battles are set to continue to play out.
And Mathur believes there was simply no way the slated fight plan would work, and insists the contracts with organisers have now got in the way.
He told Ring Magazine: ” It’s no longer going to happen in September and that’s obviously due to all the lawsuits and legal issues going on at the moment.
“CSI [rematch organisers] put it all out in the open about 10 days ago. This is stuff that everybody was trying to hold together and resolve behind the scenes but a majority of it is out there.
”People still can’t figure out how it all transpired but all of these things are intertwined, like Floyd’s fight against Mike Tyson, Floyd’s next fight into boxing, returning to pro boxing, the Manny Paquiao fight, obviously the one I have the most interest on, and of course the Greece fight.
“Everything is kind of intertwined together just based on how the contracts were done and how the deals were improperly structured.

”So the same fights were double sold. Even though Pacquiao was signed by CSI, both of these fights were Floyd’s return to professional boxing.
“One had an opponent as Pacquiao listed, the other was primarily Pacquiao as an opponent but it could’ve been somebody else.
“From the Manny side, we’re running very smooth because there’s not multiple chefs in the kitchen.
“But I knew from the other side, because Floyd was already dealing with a lot of problems…I knew that we were going to run into problems.”
Mayweather’s legal troubles
Mayweather has been caught up in several worrying financial battles outside of the ring.
He was threatened by the IRS, whom suggested they would consider revoking his passport over $7.3 million in unpaid taxes.

As a result, the veteran accepted multiple fights, but now faces a new lawsuit with CSI Sports who arranged the Pacquiao fight.
They plan to sue the legendary champion over a alleged $4.65 million advance he took from the contract.
It is unlikely he will be able to compete in 2026 until all of the issues are resolved.
