Manchester City in epic 98-year first to close the gap on Premier League leaders Arsenal

Manchester City have equalled a 98-year-old record with a gritty 1-0 win against Leeds United.

Antoine Semenyo scored the only goal in a victory that has pushed his side back to just two points behind league leaders Arsenal.

The £62.5million January signing from Bournemouth fired in his sixth City goal just seconds before half-time with a poked finish from close range.

Leeds dominated the first half with a flurry of chances, but could not find a way past a resolute defence during the second.

City have now won all of their last three league visits to Elland Road.

It’s the first time they have triumphed in three consecutive trips to Leeds since 1928.
