Mammoth sign forward to entry-level contract
The Utah Mammoth signed Belarusian forward Vadim Moroz to a two-year entry-level contract on Sunday, adding a 2023 third-round pick (No. 88 overall, selected by the Arizona Coyotes). The deal runs through the 2027-28 season and carries a $1 million annual salary, with a $1.01375 million cap hit, according to PuckPedia.
Moroz, 22, has spent his professional career with Dinamo Minsk of the KHL since summer 2022, completing his fourth season with the club. Across his KHL career, he has compiled 109 points in 222 games. His 2024-25 campaign was a breakout year, as he set a franchise record with 44 points for a U23 player. In the 2025-26 regular season, Moroz produced 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) in 54 games while recording a +4 rating. In the playoffs, he finished with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) in 8 games with a +1 rating.
While his production cooled from his previous scoring peak, Moroz continued to provide consistent value in Minsk’s lineup. he 6-foot-2 winger is renowned for his skating ability and puck control, and his game includes responsible play away from the puck and quick reactions on loose pucks.
With the Mammoth, Moroz is expected to transition from the KHL to North American hockey, with an initial adjustment period likely at the AHL level before competing for NHL minutes in a more physical role. His development will remain in focus as he moves from a high-scoring KHL environment into a different competitive setting.
