‘Mac Jones time’ – San Francisco 49ers $265 million quarterback suffered historic collapse as fans called for benching

Is it Mac Jones time in San Francisco?

Brock Purdy was awful against the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football, especially in the first half.

Purdy threw three first half interceptions that left fans calling for Mac Jones and for head coach Kyle Shanahan to bench his $265 million quarterback.

He became the first quarterback this season to throw three interceptions in the first half of a game and turned in one of the worst halves of his career.

Purdy went just 14-of-23 for 114 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions, yet the 49ers somehow still took a 10-3 lead.

It got a little better in the second half as he didn’t throw any more interceptions, but he still finished with fewer than 200 passing yards.

Even more remarkable is that the 49ers still came out on top, 20-9, thanks largely to Bryce Young’s poor play.

Yet the people made it known that they were over watching Purdy.

“Mac Jones, get ready. Purdy is awful 2nite,” Shannon Sharpe posted on X.

“Mac Jones time,” Barstool’s Big Cat commented.

“Brock Purdy must be AI because Silicon Valley investors sunk hundreds of millions of dollars into him and now they’re really insistent that he’s really good and useful and the rest of us are like uhhhhhhh idk it kinda feels like he messes up all the time,” another fan joked on X.

Despite Purdy’s rough outing, the 49ers improved to 8-4 and remain firmly in the NFC playoff race, sitting two games behind the first-place Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West.
