Lions, Bears land NFL Thanksgiving Day showdown at Ford Field

The 2026 NFL Schedule Release is on Thursday. However, the league has leaked a ton of primetime games, including Thanksgiving Eve, Week 1 of Monday Night, Sunday Night, and Thursday Night Football in Week 2. All of the international games have been leaked as well. So, it is now time for the Thanksgiving Day games.

The Dallas Cowboys will host the Philadelphia Eagles in the afternoon, and then the Detroit Lions will host the Chicago Bears. The nightcap on NBC has usually been a divisional game in the AFC, considering two NFC teams are hosting. That has yet to be officially announced.

Jordan Schultz was on the news first.

“Sources: The Lions will host the Bears on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 26, as Ben Johnson returns to Ford Field for the second time as Bears head coach. Chicago won the NFC North last season, but went 0-2 vs. Detroit.”

As mentioned by Schultz, Ben Johnson has yet to beat his former squad. The schedule makers knew what they were doing when they put this game on Thanksgiving. Last season, the Lions destroyed the Bears early in the season on MNF. It’s unclear if this will be the first or second matchup of the season, but either way, Johnson will aim to get his revenge on a day filled with family and football.

There will be a ton of content this week with the release of the schedules. The NFL has made it a big deal, and social media has turned into a frenzy. We will see who can pull off the best video on Thursday, with the Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Chargers, and Atlanta Falcons all doing elite work in the past.
