Leicester v Millwall betting tips and predictions: Three points crucial at both ends of the table

Relegated Leicester take on promotion hopefuls Millwall tonight in a crucial Championship encounter on Friday night.

The Foxes had their worst fears realised on Tuesday night, after a 2-2 draw with Hull City confirmed they will be playing in the third-tier of English football for just the second time in the club’s 142-year history.

Leicester v Millwall prediction

Millwall are bang in the automatic promotion race and will go first on the penultimate weekend of the season as they attempt to gain promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history.

After two victories on the spin, they can be confident of bagging a third consecutive win against a Leicester side in disarray.

But with promotion rivals Ipswich level on points with a game in hand, their fate won’t truly be in their hands.

Leicester City gaffer Gary Rowett looks set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.

This It will be the first action in a significant rebuild at the King Power Stadium. Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Hull City showed fare signs of fight but was not enough for the Foxes to delay the almost inevitable.

Rowett may shuffle the pack after their fate was sealed on Tuesday, handing starts to the likes of Jeremy Monga and Divine Mukasa.

Their recent head-to-head record has Millwall winning the last two league matches in a row.

Despite the game being on their home patch, it’s hard to see how Leicester grab any type of result here. Especially with their opponents hunting down such a sought-after prize of a place in the Premier League next season.

Leicester v Millwall betting tips

Millwall to win to nil

Leicester may scored two goals in a valiant effort to stave of relegation to League One against Hull on Tuesday night.

But now their destiny is sealed, Millwall’s motivations for victory may outweigh the Foxes desire as the fall out of their relegation is still very much an open wound.

With Ipswich right in the mix for second place, Millwall will hope to run up a score and crucially their goal difference against a side with nothing to play for.

Coburn on the scoresheet again

Josh Coburn had gone three games without a goal before his strike in the 3-1 win over Stoke at the weekend.

He was the man for the big occasion though, having netted both goals in the 2-1 victory against fellow promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough.

Femi Azeez has been getting a lot of praise for his performances this season, but Coburn has been leading the side from the front and will be pivotal to a Millwall success here.
