LeBron James appears to suffer injury vs. Warriors
UPDATE: James did check into the game with three minutes remaining in the third quarter and did not have a wrap on his hand.
The Los Angeles Lakers are clinging to their post in the Western Conference standings and can’t afford to lose any more players to injuries following the injuries to Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.
During Thursday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors, LeBron James appeared to have suffered a hand injury in the third quarter.
James completed his patented chasedown block in transition on Warriors guard Pat Spencer, rejecting his shot and smacking his hand on the backboard in the process.

Prior to the injury, LeBron James recorded 20 points, four rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one blocked shot in 23 minutes of play while shooting 8-of-13 from the field.
The Lakers are already severely shorthanded after star guard Luka Doncic suffered a Grande 2 hamstring strain in the Lakers loss against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder. That injury is expected to sideline Doncic for multiple weeks and his status for the NBA playoffs — depending on how far the Lakers go — is in serious jeopardy.
In the same game against the Thunder, guard Austin Reaves also suffered an oblique strain and is expected to miss multiple weeks with the injury. Like Doncic, the Lakers will need to give Reaves time to heal properly, and there’s a very real chance depending on their playoff matchup that the Lakers will have a hard time doing so.
More to come…
