Landry Shamet is soaking in Knicks fan love, including all the memes

Landry Shamet has emerged as quite the favorite for the New York Knicks fanbase that could not be any more ecstatic that their team is headed to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999 after thrashing the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, 130-93, to complete the sweep.

Shamet has had a few huge games for the Knicks in this year’s playoffs, including in Game 4, when he came off the bench to score 16 points on 5-6 shooting from the field to give the team a huge spark yet again. And Shamet’s legend as a Knicks hero is growing by the day, with plenty of fans showing their love for the 29-year-old sharpshooter on social media.

All Shamet could do is bask in the love from the Knicks fanbase that just looks at him in pure adoration.

“It’s a lot. It’s fun. I love Knicks fans, man. I love New York. I love all of it. It’s home. It’s special,” Shamet told reporters following the Knicks’ Game 4 victory, via SNY Knicks.

One of the ways Knicks fans have expressed their love for Shamet is through memes, and the 29-year-old knows that it’s all love from Knicks fans towards him and back. After all, how can fans not love him when he missed just one of his 12 attempts from three-point range in their domination of the Cavs in the ECF.

Shamet was just on the bubble of making this Knicks roster despite contributing at various point for the team during the 2024-25 season, but Malcolm Brogdon’s surprise retirement opened up the roster spot for him. And Shamet, to his credit, has seized this opportunity by the scruff of the neck.

He is a huge X-factor in the NBA Finals, and knowing how fearless he is, there is a chance that he ends up swinging some games in the Knicks’ favor in what should be a tightly-contested series against either the Oklahoma City Thunder or San Antonio Spurs.
