Ladd McConkey makes 1 thing clear about Chargers’ ‘end goal’

The Los Angeles Chargers have reached the playoffs three out of their last four seasons. However, they have failed to advance past the Wild Card Round.

During the 2026 season, Ladd McConkey is looking to change that. In fact, when it’s all said and done, he expects the Chargers to be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy, via Vincent Bonsignore of the New York Post.

“I think the end goal is we want to win the Super Bowl,” McConkey said.

McConkey, who is working his way through a hamstring injury, will play a major role in any offensive success Los Angeles finds. He led the Chargers with 789 yards through the air in 2025 on 66 catches, adding four touchdowns. Los Angeles lost Keenan Allen and their only significant addition has been fourth-rounder Brenen Thompson. McConkey will once again be leaned on in the passing game.

When it comes to the Chargers’ offense, the biggest change will be the return of tackles Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater. Los Angeles’ offensive line has gone through a number of changes on the interior. But with their top flight tackles back, the Chargers expect to have a strong foundation. Quarterback Justin Herbert is at least smiling.

Defensively, the franchise re-signed Khalil Mack and brought in a new nose tackle in Dalvin Tomlinson. They also used their first-round pick on edge rusher Akheem Mesidor. The Chargers ranked fifth in total defense in 2025, allowing 285.2 yards per game. Los Angeles is expecting to remain a threat to any opposing offense.

If their own offense is able to take a step forward alongside that defensive prowess, the Chargers will be a true contender in the AFC. There are plenty of moving pieces, but McConkey at least believes Los Angeles has what it takes to win it all.
