Kylian Mbappe has been forced out of El Clasico after yet another injury setback.

The Real Madrid forward is not included in the squad for Sunday’s trip to face Barcelona.

Alvaro Arbeloa will be without the Frenchman for a potentially decisive clash in the LaLiga title race.

Barca will clinch a 29th championship if they avoid defeat against their bitter rivals, with kick-off at 8pm.

Hansi Flick’s side are currently 11 points clear at the top of the table with four matches remaining.

Even if they suffer a defeat on Sunday, they will be just two points away from securing the title.

Ahead of the match, Mbappe was forced to withdraw from the Real Madrid side with a hamstring injury, according to Marca.

The 27-year-old aggravated his left hamstring during their final training session before taking to the pitch at the Camp Nou.

Real Madrid’s medical staff had been hopeful Mbappe would be fit enough to return to action for this game.

It comes after he missed their win over Espanyol last time out due to a separate hamstring issue.

Mbappe has scored 41 goals and provided six assists in 41 appearances across all competitions this season.

However, his future at the Santiago Bernabeu now appears uncertain with supporters calling for him to leave the club in their multi-millions.

A petition launched on Tuesday demanding Mbappe departs has racked up almost 70 million signatures.

Having joined the club from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024, the World Cup winner still has three years remaining on his current contract.

While Mbappe is absent from Arbeloa’s travelling squad to face Barca, both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham have been included.

There is also a space for Aurelien Tchouameni following his training ground bust-up with Federico Valverde.

Both players have subsequently been fined £432,000 by the club as a result of the incident.

Valverde will not feature against Barca, though, having required medical attention.

A head injury, which he says he caused himself, has seen him ruled out for two weeks.
