Kristoffer Reitan wins Truist Championship with rock-solid Sunday at Quail Hollow

Kristoffer Reitan won his first PGA Tour event on Sunday afternoon at the Truist Championship, firing a two-under in the final round to hold off a charging Rickie Fowler. Fowler finished 13 under par in second place, while Reitan was 15 under in first. Nicolai Hojgaard also finished 13-under to tie Fowler for second place. The rookie Reitan brings home $3.6 million for his win, with Fowler and Hojgaard each bringing home $1.76 million in the signature event.

It was the 12th tournament of Reitan’s career, missing the cut in three of those tournaments but trending in the right direction recently with three top-20 finishes in his last four events, including a T2 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Reitan has won two European Tour events, including one this season at the Nedbank Golf Challenge. He finished eighth in the European Tour Race to Dubai in 2025, which earned him playing status on the PGA Tour, and with the win, he now earns an automatic two-year exemption.

The tour now shifts to the PGA Championship next weekend at Aronimink Golf Club. It is the second major of the season, with Rory McIlroy taking the Masters for a second consecutive year.

Reitan will get to play in his fourth major at Aronimink, as he appeared at the 2018 US Open as an amateur, the 2025 Open Championship, and the 2026 Masters. He tied for 30th at last year’s Open, and tied for 41st at the Masters this year. He’ll now be riding high and hoping for his best major finish yet.
