Knicks’ Josh Hart claps back at fan who doubted his offseason preparation
The New York Knicks may still be on the NBA’s mountaintop, but there are many teams gunning for them to take their crown. In particular, the Philadelphia 76ers look very scary heading into the 2026-27 campaign. Not only did they trade for Jaylen Brown, they also signed LeBron James in free agency — giving them arguably the best quartet in free agency what with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey still being on the roster.
On Wednesday, a picture showing James, Brown, and Maxey working out together made the rounds on social media. This struck some fear into one Knicks fan’s heart, who then urged Josh Hart to start getting into the gym in preparation for their title defense next season.
Hart, in signature fashion, clapped back to the Knicks fan, saying that he is already hard at work — he simply doesn’t see the value in showing off.
“Brother I hate posting summer gym pics. I’m in the gym though
,” Hart wrote on his official account on X.
There are only two months remaining before the start of the 2026-27 regular season, where the Knicks will be taking on the 76ers on opening night. It stands to reason that they are already hard at work, even though New York must have spent plenty of time this offseason celebrating their accomplishment back in June.
The Knicks definitely have their work cut out for them. They will now have to play from a position of being hunted considering that every other team in the NBA is looking to dethrone them.
But New York kept its championship-winning core, and they should be among the favorites to win it all still. Hart is expected to be one of the best glue guys in the NBA once more, and they will have to lock in from the jump to avoid teams like the 76ers to usurp them in the league’s totem pole.
