Khabib’s cousin Usman flattens rival in three-minute KO at PFL New York before Jake Paul plea

Usman Nurmagomedov flattened Archie Colgan in his final PFL fight in just one round.

The cousin of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, was making his latest appearance for MMA promotion PFL on their New York bill.

It was the final fight of his contract and the unbeaten Russian was hoping to make yet another defence of his lightweight title.

And he did exactly that in seriously emphatic fashion in the Big Apple, with his cousin Khabib as his coach.

It was a blockbuster event, which was shown live on the talkSPORT Boxing YouTube channel, in the the first since the PFL inked a landmark deal to merge with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.

The breakthrough moment came with an expertly timed kick, which clipped Colgan before a booming left hand sent him initially tumbling to the canvas.

He bounced back up off the floor impressively, reacting well to the shot, but he was on borrowed time.

As he tried to retreat and cover up, it was a booming combination this time that got the job done for Nurmagomedov.

A chopping short right uppercut crashed through the guard and sent the American crashing to the canvas again.

This time despite trying to sit up, a brief couple of pounds from the unbeaten champion saw the referee swoop in and call a halt to the contest.

It was another impressive stoppage victory for Nurmagomedov, who celebrated with his relative who was in his corner for the bout.

Nurmagomedov demands Jake Paul pays up

After yet another victory in his fourth fight under the PFL banner, Nurmagomedov can be forgiven for asking for a more lucrative deal.

He is now the hottest property free agent in MMA, and it is likely Dana White will be sniffing around to try and sign the frightening talent.

After the PFL’s merge with Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, the influencer-turned-promoter will be also keen to tie down Nurmagomedov.

He climbed into the cage afterwards to congratulate the 28-year-old.

But he was met by a plea from Nurmagomedov to up his salary and sign a new deal.

He said: “We’ll see what’s going on.

“It was my last fight on my contract. MVP [Jake Paul’s promotion] they always trash talks a little bit about Dana – he doesn’t pay.

“Now we’re going to see how they’re going to pay.”

Paul asked for a number, but it is likely talks will be opened in the coming days to try and seal a fresh contract.
