Kazuma Okamoto’s hilarious revelation after 2-home run game vs. Twins

The Toronto Blue Jays got a big win on Friday over the Minnesota Twins, 7-3. Toronto infielder Kazuma Okamoto had a two home run game for his team. He nearly had a third home run, and opened up after the contest about that last at-bat.

“I didn’t have my pre-game quesadilla today. I think if I’d had that, it would have been a home run,” Okamoto said through a translator, per MLB.com.

The Blue Jays are finally putting some wins together after a rough start to the season. Toronto has won three of their last four games, after defeating Minnesota Friday. The Blue Jays are 15-17 on the season.

Okamoto was pleased with his performance on Friday. He posted three RBIs, and was congratulated in the dugout after his home run blasts.

“That made me really happy to see my teammates cheering me on like that,” Okamoto said, per MLB.com. “That one caught me off guard. I didn’t see that coming.”

Okamoto is hitting at a .228 batting average this season, with seven home runs.

Toronto made the World Series in 2025, and nearly won it. The Blue Jays lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Fall Classic, in a thrilling seven-game series.

This season has started out on the wrong foot for the Blue Jays. The team is looking to keep this momentum going, as the calendar has turned to May.

“Everyone knew what they were doing. This guy is going to grind, this guy is going to make contact, this guy is going to slug. I think we’re still sorting through that, to be honest with you,” Blue Jays manager John Schneider said. “The domino effect of not having guys leaves some guys trying to do things that they’re not great at or trying to do too much. It’s a constant thing we talk about every day.”

The Blue Jays and Twins play again on Saturday afternoon. Toronto is currently six games behind the New York Yankees in the American League East.
