Karl-Anthony Towns gets standing ovation at Roomates Show live
The New York Knicks were able to defeat the San Antonio Spurs thanks to NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson, but in no way did he do it alone. Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart all played significant roles in the series victory, and that’s why every single player has received loud ovations whenever they’ve been in public spaces around New York City.
That didn’t change on Friday, during a live taping of Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart’s Roommates Show.
Karl-Anthony Towns was a surprise guest at the taping, and New York fans gave him a well-deserved ovation.
“It’s easy for me to make these sacrifices when you’ve got such amazing teammates,” Karl-Anthony Towns said after the standing ovation from Knicks fans.

Karl-Anthony Towns didn’t have an overly impressive NBA Finals by some folks’ standards, averaging 13 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.0 block in the five game series. But the job he did on the glass against the formidable opponent in Victor Wembanyama deserved praise on its own. Not to mention his timely baskets and the efforts defensively to make life a living hell on the NBA’s reigning Defensive Player of the Year in Wembanyama.
With all of the Knicks core and most of its roster coming back next season, there’s no reason the New York Knicks won’t be in the mix to win an NBA Championship again in the 2026-27 season.
A six-time NBA All-Star, Karl-Anthony Towns can now add NBA Champion to his list of accolades. He finished the 2025-26 season averaging 20.1 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 0.9 steals per game for the Knicks while shooting 50.1 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from three.
