Jurgen Klopp’s agent rules out new job after ‘annoying’ links to European giants
Jurgen Klopp will not become Real Madrid head coach despite him being at the centre of the club’s presidential elections.
The ex-Liverpool boss has been sounded out by presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme as the club’s next head coach, if he is sworn in over rival Florentino Perez.

Perez himself, has already agreed a deal to bring Jose Mourinho back to the Bernabeu if he is successful in his bid to remain as president.
Riquelme is in the process of pitching his plans to the swathes of Real Madrid members tasked with choosing the next president on Sunday.
And that includes an audacious promise to land Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Rodri to work under Klopp next season.
However, Riquelme’s plan appears to be a little too hasty as far as Klopp’s agent Marc Kosike is concerned.
“It’s annoying,” Kosike told Sky Germany. “Jurgen Klopp is happy in his role at Red Bull and has no ambitions to work as a coach at a club.”
The German tactician has been linked with a host of managerial roles since leaving Anfield in 2024.
Klopp has even claimed publicly that he has no plan to return to management in the future.
Despite his comments, Riquelme has pressed ahead with the idea of luring Klopp to the Spanish capital in a bid to return Real Madrid to the top of world football.
Riquelme said on Friday: “We know that Jurgen Klopp has publicly stated he has no intention of returning to the dugout in the short term, and that he has turned down numerous offers.
“That is precisely why we believe the challenge of Real Madrid is different. Because there are great clubs, but there is only one Real Madrid.

“There is only one institution capable of uniting tradition and future, values and ambition, passion and excellence.
“For that reason, if the members grant me their trust this Sunday, on Monday Raul will contact Jurgen Klopp to convey to him personally our sporting project and our wish for him to be the one to lead, from the bench, a new era for Real Madrid.
“We are speaking of one of the finest coaches of our time. But, above all, we are speaking of a leader capable of restoring to Real Madrid the competitive intensity, the daily demands, the professionalism, the meritocracy, the dressing-room unity and the pride in a job well done that have always characterised the great eras of our history.”
Riquelme knows he has a huge task to overcome Perez who is into his second spell as Madrid president.
The 79-year-old has overseen seven Champions League successes while pulling off a host of Galactico-style transfers including those of Zinedine Zidane, Cristiano Ronaldo and more recently Kylian Mbappe.
Perez this week revealed that he will launch a club record £129million bid for an unnamed star of Galactico proportions.

Speculation has already mounted as to who the player could be with PSG’s Champions League-winning heroes Joao Neves, Vitinha and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia believed to be in the running.
Perez initially ruled out a move for Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise however reports on Friday evening claim that the ex-Crystal Palace star is indeed the player the Real Madrid supremo wants to land this summer.
Outgoing Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has been lined up for a free transfer while Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries is also expected to sign in the event that Perez continues as president.
At present, Perez’s targets appear far more realistic than Riquelme’s which could work against the 37-year-old.
Riquelme’s plans to raid Manchester City prompted an angry reaction from the Premier League club earlier this week.
“The stories which have emerged from Spain regarding the future of Erling Haaland are untrue,” a Man City statement read.

“There is no chance of this happening and there is no contractual clause to enable it. We are considering legal action for the use of our player image in this context.’”
