Joel Embiid probable for 76ers Game 1 vs. Knicks after Game 7 injury scare
While the Philadelphia 76ers were able to secure the win in Game 7 of their two-seven series against the Boston Celtics in enemy territory, the team did not leave Beantown unscathed, with Joel Embiid taking a beating in the contest.
Playing 39 minutes of action for Nick Nurse’s squad, a mark that somehow only ranked fourth on the team behind Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, and Paul George, Embiid repeatedly found himself on the floor for one reason or another and even had to go back to the locker room to get his side re-taped following his appendectomy just under a month ago.
Fortunately, on the 76ers’ first injury report before Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, Embiid was given a very good update, with his status for the New York Knicks showdown officially listed as probable over 24 hours before the game.
