Jeremy Lin reveals condition for making Carmelo Anthony podcast appearance

Jeremy Lin appears willing to sit down with Carmelo Anthony, but only under one condition.

Speaking with the New York Post, the former New York Knicks guard revealed that discussions are underway between his team and Anthony’s team about a potential appearance on Anthony’s podcast. Before that happens, however, Lin wants a private conversation first.

“I’d like to have a private conversation before having a public recorded conversation,” Lin said. “That’s my goal right now.”

The comments come after Anthony publicly invited Lin onto his show to address lingering questions about their relationship and time together in New York. Anthony previously called on Lin to “come speak the truth” and suggested the two should clear up misconceptions that have followed them for years.

Lin Wants Private Discussion First

While Lin expressed interest in eventually joining the podcast, he stressed that resolving matters behind closed doors remains his priority.

According to Lin, a private discussion could help both sides revisit how their relationship ended and work through any unresolved issues before speaking publicly.

“I do think a private conversation would go a long way,” Lin said. “I think that would be super healthy.”

Lin also admitted he is not entirely sure what concerns Anthony may have. Rather than speculate, he said he would prefer to hear Anthony’s perspective directly.

“I can guess what the issues are,” Lin explained, “but I don’t think it would do Melo justice for me to guess.”

The former Knicks guard emphasized that he does not sense hostility between them. Instead, he believes an honest conversation could help provide clarity and move things forward.

A podcast appearance remains possible. But if fans want to see Lin and Anthony discuss their past together in public, Lin made it clear that a private meeting needs to happen first.
